What is a CNAME Record?

A CNAME (Canonical Name) record is a type of DNS record that maps an alias name to a true or canonical domain name. CNAME records are typically used to:

• Point a subdomain to another domain (e.g., www.example.com to example.com)
• Use multiple services with the same domain (e.g., point blog.example.com to a blogging platform)
• Create redirects without changing the URL in the browser

Note: This tool supports domains with underscores (like _acme-challenge.example.com) which are commonly used for DNS validation.
